One of the main advantages of Les Carroz that makes it such an attractive destination is the ease of getting there. Via the quickest route, Les Carroz is just 47 miles (or 76 kilometers) from Geneva Airport, which can easily take less than an hour by car. The resort is just 15 minutes from the nearest exit on the A40 'Autoroute Blanche' motorway. and just a few more minutes from the nearest rail station in Cluses served by the high speed TGV trains. For some, it may be worth considering the long distance drive as an option - the motorway network makes the drive easy, and with a driving time of 8½ hours (breaks excepted) from the English Channel, it is very manageable.

Transfers - For those looking for a convenient and easy alternative to hiring a car, there are a number of companies that specialise in Airport Transfers. Contact us for details.

By Train - Cluses is the nearest railway station to Les Carroz, and taking the train to there is straightforward. Travelling from the UK, take the Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord. In Paris, change to the Gare de Lyon and take the high speed TGV service directly to Cluses. Depending on the time of your arrival, there are buses to transfer you to Les Carroz. However, a more convenient option would be to take a taxi or book with a Transfer company for the 20 minute journey. For train prices and tickets, see Eurostar,  SNCF or Rail Europe.

Similarly it is roughly 890km (553 miles) from Zeebrugge, of which 846km are on motorways. Unless you wish to visit it en route, avoid going anywhere near Paris, but take the route via Reims instead.

Hire Cars - For many people, this is the preferred option for getting from the airport to Les Carroz in a fast and easy manner, and directly to the other major ski stations within the Grand Massif (free car parking). It also provides a greater degree of flexibility for the duration of your holiday. For example, in the event that you would wish to try neighbouring resorts, you would be able to take a day trip to nearby Megève or Les Contamines, for which 1 day of skiing is included if you purchase the Grand Massif whole area ski pass (minimum 6 days). See our Winter Sports page for other nearby ski resorts.

There are many reasonably priced car rental companies that operate from Geneva Airport - contact us if you require assistance. We recommend that you hire your car from the Swiss side of Geneva Airport, as opposed to the French side which would require you to buy a Swiss Vignette (road tax) for an additional CHF40.00 (about GBP29.00). Also, it is more difficult to return your car to the French side of the airport at the end of your stay.

You can contact us for any help or assistance you may require.
